Ways to prevent content theft
I’m late referring to the article below; I’ve been a bit busy with other things, but I thought I would mention it anyway, especially considering my recent (and continuing - he’s filching from another of my blogs now) problems with my ‘content stalker‘.
I’ll just give you a very small extract (don’t want to plagiarise) from the article. Incidentally, it is written by Jonathan Bailey, who owns the site Plagiarism Today which I mentioned earlier. This is it:
The 6 Steps to Stop Content Theft
Blog Herald November 26, 2007
By Jonathan Bailey
“With spammers and plagiarists becoming more prolific and more aggressive than ever, content theft is no longer a matter of “if”, but “when”……
…… Fortunately, the steps for fighting plagiarism are easy to follow and, for the most part, the tools are free and readily available…….”
The article includes details on:
How to find out who is copying your content (with a host of free tools you can use), plus advice and links to free ways of preserving the evidence for your next step.
It then provides advice on the best way to go about: contacting the plagiarist; contacting the plagiarist’s advertisers; the plagiarist’s hosts; and (especially important to my plagiarist and most others out there, I reckon) the search engines.
This is a really helpful article and one which I may just follow myself.
Are you reading this, stalker?
